Leave your recommendations in the comments! I finally broke down and bought a pair of birks this summer. Go ahead, run over my feet with a forklift. I will feel nothing. Physically or emotionally. These sandals are the Platonic ideal of sandals. They go with everything: dresses, pants, rompers, sleeveless hoodies, etc.

Too many people are afraid to talk about anything outside of the heteronormative standards in the ballet community and I am making this blog as a safe place where we can discuss intersectional LGBT issues that dancers may come across. Your body needs and uses all of them but it would like to have a little of everything every day. The assumption is that we eat very little in order to stay thin but the truth for me and many other was that I burned a LOT of calories and my body required more food than the average person.
